The Federal Services and Resources Planning Office (FSRPO) was created by the Puerto Rico Office of Management and Budget (PROMB) with the purpose of assisting agencies and municipalities in implementing federal grant management practices. By providing technical assistance of the highest quality, routine publication of innovative best practices and consistent training for stakeholders, the FSRPO hopes to become the standard for federal grant management in Puerto Rico.
The FSRPO responds to a need by agencies and municipalities to engage in responsible multi-faceted efforts to apply for, manage, disburse, and keep track of federal spending, while ensuring compliance with federal and local regulations. As such, FSRPO’s main responsibility is to bolster government ''agencies' and municipalities' capacity" to manage federal funds through training and information. The FSRPO has the following objectives:
Information regarding federal funding opportunities and the application process is sometimes fractured, hindering compliance, and creating missed opportunities. The mission of the FSRPO Landing Page is to facilitate information and services that encourage the adequate management of federal funds. Provide a general database for all federal funding opportunities and relevant information, streamlining the application and disbursement processes. Ensure compliance is adequately communicated to stakeholders to optimize the use of federal funds.
